The purpose of this paper is to clarify future research prospects through a review of organizational socialization research of newcomers. Organizational socialization refers to the process by which newcomers make the transition from being organizational outsiders to being insiders. First, we focused on the organizational socialization outcome of role clarity. We reviewed research discussed about definition and scale of role clarity. Second, we reviewed the related research of proactive behavior and LMX (leader-member exchange). We also reviewed the related research which discussed the relationship between role clarity, proactive behavior, and LMX. Last, based on our review, we proposed the directions for future research.
